I usually post friends-only, but ticklygirl has many more friends that I do, so I'm going public with this one. This will hopefully be her last major surgery. I've helped pick out stones for her crystal grid and promised kimmiebee32 that I would channel healing energies as best I can. I'm taking her to the hospital tomorrow morning at 11:45am. I just want this to go well, she has had a bumpy ride lately.

Ok, I need to update my Yahoo! profile. I got three IM's from women this morning. I'm fairly sure one was legitimate and she seems like a cool chick (cute too! *grin*). One of the others was a definite scam attempt. It really annoyed me since I invested a good hour talking to this girl and feeling things out. It turns out she was just trying to scam me, thinking me a desperate guy having a mid-life crisis. The third, I'm not sure about. She too is supposedly from the UK and gave me her cell number. I'm going to look up the international dialing code to see if it matches. If it turns out to be from somewhere else, then I know that one was BS too. I need to make sure the scammers know that if they tweak this cat's tail, they will get the business end of a saber-tooth tiger.

Ok, since ticklygirl is coming home on Tuesday, I was looking at the weather channel web page. Nothing unusual there -- what was really interesting was the nine FEET of snow they were forcasting from the latest storm out West. FEET!!! Holy shit, it sounds something like what would happen if you had an unholy cross between a hurricane and a nor'easter. DAMN!!!

Well, I crashed last night around 9pm and slept most of the next 12 hours. Feeling much more like my old self now, amazing what a couple of beers and 12 hours of sleep can do. I've got my boarding pass ready and sent Cait's second wire transfer. I'm packed already and just have an hour or so to kill before heading out to the store for more cat food, then off to the airport. The flight leaves at 2pm and is still listed as on-time, so I think this leg of the travel-marathon will work well.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Michelle, I miss her terribly right now and will feel much better when I see her.

WEST MILFORD, N.J. (AP) — A black bear picked the wrong yard for a jaunt, running into a territorial tabby who ran the furry beast up a tree — twice.

Jack, a 15-pound orange and white cat, keeps a close vigil on his property, often chasing small animals, but his owners and neighbors say his latest escapade was surprising.

"We used to joke, 'Jack's on duty,' never knowing he'd go after a bear," owner Donna Dickey told The Star-Ledger of Newark for Friday's editions.

Neighbor Suzanne Giovanetti first spotted Jack's accomplishment after her husband saw a bear climb a tree on the edge of their northern New Jersey property on Sunday. Giovanetti thought Jack was simply looking up at the bear, but soon realized the much larger animal was afraid of the hissing cat.

After about 15 minutes, the bear descended and tried to run away, but Jack chased it up another tree.

Dickey, who feared for her cat, then called Jack home and the bear scurried back to the woods.

"He doesn't want anybody in his yard," Dickey said.

Bear sightings are not unusual in West Milford, which experts consider one of the state's most bear-populated areas.
